The short version: Yapyap does not have its own server, does not require an account, and does not collect or store your personal data on any server we control. Your game progress, statistics, and any photo you use in Custom Puzzle mode stay entirely on your own device. The only data that leaves your device is handled by trusted third-party services (Google AdMob for ads and Google Play Billing for purchases), described in full detail below.
Yapyap is a jigsaw puzzle game developed by devFhm ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is (and is not) collected when you use the Yapyap mobile application ("the App").
We do not operate a backend server for Yapyap, and we do not ask you to create an account. As a direct result:
The App stores the following information locally, using an on-device database (Hive). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself, and it is automatically deleted if you uninstall the App:
Which Story chapter you are currently on, your best completion times, move counts, and the date/time you achieved them.
A simple flag indicating whether you have purchased Premium. This is automatically re-verified with Google Play (see Section 5) every time you open the App.
The most recently cropped photo you chose for Custom Puzzle mode is cached temporarily in the App's private storage on your device so the puzzle can be regenerated (e.g., after changing difficulty). It is never uploaded to us or any third party.
Minor technical counters (such as how many levels you've completed, used only to control how often ads are shown).
Some features of the App rely on services provided by other companies. When you use these features, those companies may collect information according to their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We chose reputable, industry-standard providers and only enabled what each feature genuinely requires.
Yapyap displays ads (including video ads you can optionally watch for in-game hints, extra time, or to unlock a difficulty level) using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as your advertising ID), general device information, and approximate location to serve and measure ads, and may personalize ads based on your activity. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings (on Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Opt out of Ads Personalization"). For full details, see Google's Privacy Policy and Google's User Consent Policy.
If you choose to purchase Premium, the entire transaction (including your payment details) is handled directly by Google Play. We never see or store your payment information — Google simply tells our App whether the purchase was successful. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google Play handles this data.
Story mode puzzle images are downloaded from a public GitHub repository as your device needs them. This is a standard content download; GitHub may log standard technical information (such as your IP address) as part of serving that file, in line with GitHub's own Privacy Statement.
The illustrated puzzle images used in Story mode are created by us using Google's Gemini AI image-generation tools before being published to the App. This is a content-creation process on our end — it does not involve sending any of your personal data to Google's Gemini service while you play.
Yapyap is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App has no account system and no server-side data collection of our own, no personal data is knowingly gathered from any user, including children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service described above, please contact us using the details in Section 9 and we will assist in addressing it.
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights regarding personal data, such as the right to know what is collected, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of certain processing. Since we do not collect personal data on our own servers, most of these rights are exercised directly with the third-party providers listed in Section 4 (Google). We are happy to help point you in the right direction — see Section 9.
Because your gameplay data and any custom photo never leave your device, they are protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a secure lock screen.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new feature that changes how data is handled. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page whenever we make changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
